To New Beginnings

Ever had a long sigh of relief or simply just felt happy? As I briefly skimmed through my social media feeds I came across what many of you Facebook users would see, the memories that I shared this very same day last year.

I wrote this short message in my status:

Stay positive. Stay fighting. Stay brave. Stay ambitious. Stay focused. Stay strong.

Always keep your end goals in mind and keep going! Your struggles, your determination and hard work will not go unnoticed. In the end I have high hopes that everything will work out the way it should.

After reading this, I smiled to myself as I reflected back on all the experiences that I have gone through this past year. It still amazes me how much we, as human beings, can adapt to change, have the ability to face our fears and continue to grow and learn through overcoming the many hurdles in life.

Many things can change within a year and sometimes we are confronted with unexpected situations and left to fend for ourselves. I have personally gone through many highs and lows – times where I have felt scared or helpless – that I came to eventually realize how imperative it is to surround yourself with people who support you, be vulnerable with those you can trust and seek the strength within you to move forward.

This past year I have continued to challenge myself, kept myself grounded and met some amazing individuals along the way. I have learned that every good thing must come to an end in order to truly appreciate all that it was. This allows us to start fresh and have a new beginning.

Every day is a new day, another chance to make it even better than the last. So take that leap forward, expect the unexpected and get out of your comfort zone.

As Napoleon Hill would say, “You can’t change where you started, but you can change the direction you are going. It’s not what you are going to do, but it’s what you are doing now that counts”.
